Goslings, cygnets and something rather ugly

Now is the time of year (albeit a tad later than normal) to see baby animals. It is almost impossible to see tree nesting birds as their nests are so well hidden by foliage. Water birds are easier to look out for. Over the last few days I've been lucky enough to see Canada geese chicks:

and I can only say I've been unfortunate enough to see a grey heron chick too - not very attractive. At least I was some distance away.
