Clouds of Bullrush seeds

Fascinating and once they've escaped from their stalk
they're rather difficult to clean up.

Damn, I wish the cat hadn't caught one this afternoon.

snow

I'd like it if snowflakes were just a bit bigger, then you could see their amazing shapes
more clearly.

Or maybe I need better glasses...

Jackdaws going to roost

Late afternoon in Bushy Park - I heard the chattering of Jackdaws flying overhead.
Looking up I saw a huge flock and noticed they were clearly flying in pairs.

Sound Advice

I'm reading an excellent book: 'On Nature - Unexpected Ramblings on the British Countryside'.
It's been produced by those great people at Caught by the River. If you've not visited their
website, you should. One of the sections is called 'How to Bird' by Ceri Levy. He tells you
how to find new birds: get to know the songs and calls of the common birds, then when
you hear something you can't identify, it's probably something uncommon.

What sound advice - today I managed to find a Nuthatch in Bushy Park.

Winter tracks

Fresh snowfall gives a great opportunity for tracking birds and animals.
I reckon this is a squirrel.

Cold then Hot

Walking on water

The Grey Heron in Bushy Park finds fishing a challenge with all the snow and ice.
